Young Fingal has been reunited with his long-lost Tropical Fish Cousins and the cheeky wee things have demanded a kit all of their own!!
Oh this has been a fun project!!
I wanted to create some little Fair Isle fish for my Summer at the Seaside Make-a-Long with different colour work options for the bodies and a fun corrugated rib tail.
I didn't expect the design process to involve chopping the first fish up with a kitchen knife when I couldn't find my scissors but I'm pretty happy with the end result and hope you will be too!
Each kit will make 8 or more little fishies and includes:
6 x 10g hand dyed 75% Merino / 25% nylon 4ply mini skeins
Pure wool stuffing
a small amount of black yarn for facial features
a turtle lobster-clasp stitch marker
a printed pattern booklet including multiple colour work charts for the fish bodies and step by step photo explanations for some of the techniques
Fingal and his friends are knitted on a 60cm 2.50mm circular needle with the magic loop technique and start with a seamless Turkish cast on at the nose and end with a 3 needle bind off - so there is no sewing up required!!
If you would like turn your fishies into a happy mobile I have included the option to buy a 5.5cm and 9.5cm jute ring
